Considering the Cost of Liposuction

If you are considering liposuction, then one of the first considerations that you'll likely have is liposuction prices. The first thing that you should be aware of is that the cost of liposuction can vary by region that you are having the work done in, and that you can get a considerable discount by having multiple regions done at once, since liposuction prices will generally consist of, at least in large part, the anesthesiologist fee, the cost of the operating room that the procedure is done in, and the work of the surgeon to do the procedure. Having multiple regions done at once, means that there is only one anesthesia fee, one OR fee, and a huge reduction in the surgeon's rate for a three hour procedure as opposed to two, two hour procedures.

The prices of lipo also vary by surgeon and by the area you live in. Obviously, most surgeons in the Beverly Hills or New York area are going to charge more than someone in an area that doesn't have quite as much demand for liposuction. Between high demand areas like this liposuction prices are going to be 100 to 200 percent higher. The trade-off is that generally these surgeons are much more skilled at the procedure, by simple repetition and practice, while a more rural surgeon may have only performed the liposuction procedure two or three times in their entire career.

The cost of liposuction will generally start at no less than $1500 however. This is the very low end, for the lowest priced body region, and a surgeon that charges on the very low end of the pricing scale. Generally, however, for the more common areas lipo cost will start at $2500, such as for the abdomen, the thighs and the hips. This can go upwards of nine or ten thousand dollars or even more if a surgeon is in high demand. Be smart, don't choose a surgeon that you don't trust to get a better price, but don't let a surgeon overcharge you either.
